Catholic Charities of Owensboro (and Western Kentucky) is affiliated with Catholic Charities USA, one of the nation’s largest and oldest adoption agencies. We are a non-profit, licensed, child placing agency, and a member of the Kentucky Adoption Coalition. An adoption counselor will meet confidentially with birth parents and adoptive families in their county of residence.

Birth parents from any religious background, race, or national origin are eligible for services from Catholic Charities. We offer traditional closed adoptions and open adoptions. There is no cost to birth parents who wish to make an adoption plan for their child.

Catholic Charities requires every couple interested in adopting to complete a three-day seminar to prepare them for adoption. Following this seminar, background checks and interviews are completed on each adoptive family to assure their suitability as adoptive parents. Placement fees for adoptive couple are based on a sliding scale.
